Mission Statement

Music is its own great reward. However, the mastery of self through diligent practice, and freedom of expression of real inner depth enriches all things. My goal is to honestly introduce each student to his or her true self. Through the pursuit of music, I will show my students how to make that person flourish, so they may change the world.

Student Expectations

1. The student is expected to commit to regular practice. While I consider DAILY time more important than specific duration, it is recommended that the student practice 30 minutes to1 hour a day or more.

2. The student is expected to have all materials at each lesson. This includes a pencil, notebook, assigned books and music, and any outside ensemble materials to be rehearsed. These supplies are not covered by tuition, and must be purchased separately by the student.

3. The student is expected to be an active participant in the lesson, both in conversation and performance.

4. The student is expected to show respect and honesty towards the instructor, and himself or herself.

Teacher Expectations:

1. The teacher is expected to attend every lesson on time and with all necessary materials. If the instructor is running late by more than 10 minutes for any reason, this will be communicated by a phone call.

2. The teacher is expected to explain things in a clear and understandable manner.

3. The teacher is expected to teach the principles of music, efficient instrumental technique, and effective practice habits, so that each student can gain the most out of their music education.

4. The teacher is expected to show respect and honesty towards the student, and himself.
